The canned tune changed engine timings and transmission shift points. I turned off DoD 4cyl mode, increased throttle response by 5%, set tranny to firm shift, increased park and drive idle by 50rpm, and used the canned 87 octane diablo tune. I was able to backup the factory default settings and tune everything the way I wanted. I lurked on their forums to get advice for what I should change. It's a handheld tuner the size of a small smartphone. I found a device from DiabloSport called the inTune i2. It fixed some of the power issues, but not the shifting. I tried this device made from Range Technologies that plugs into your OBDII port. I spent all this money on a new truck, and it wasn't behaving like a truck. At this point, I was pretty irrate and didn't know what to do. Apparently, these behaviors were common to the fuel management system. They said "Everything is operating to specifications." And it didn't have any check engine codes. But, it has the warranty, so I took it into the dealership. I'm an IT guy so I naturally like troubleshooting things myself. Almost to the point where it was a misfire. Vibration during idle was intermittent as well. It also intermittently lost power (not caused by DoD). This caused major shifting issues in the city during morning traffic jams. It was common for it to be in 6th gear at 30mph, about 900-1000rpm. Also, it would shift into 6th gear as soon as possible. It drove great for a couple hundred miles, then started to hesitate to shift into gears 2 and 3. I had issue with it and am posting this, hoping to help others who've had similar issues. I recently bought a 2016 Silverado 1500 last October. If you’re an asshole your comment will be removed.įirst time posting here.
